It's 1:25 am and my eyes are still wide open. Since my baby is sleeping and i'm in the front of the computer, then what else is there to do aside from writing this new post of mine...music... Yes, and I am now listening to rock ballad or slow rock. I so love this kind of music, maybe because I grew up listening with these. My father is such a huge fan of slowrock and same with my uncles. I remember when i was still a kid, we always have this family gathering and we cook lots of food, and our background music is slowrock. And of course the elders will have their drinks and 1 of my uncle will play the guitar, and everyone of us will just sing songs of Eagles, Scorpions, Nazareth and a lot more.
Then when i was in high school, i even made a song book, i wrote down the song's lyrics and tried to write it with my most beautiful penmanship. A thick notebook full of songs from slowrock to mellow or lovesongs, still from the 80's. I am so proud of it coz when my classmates learned that i have it, they try to borrow it from me and they were amazed of the songs that was in there. Their common reaction is "Oh, is this the title of this song?" or "oh i've been looking for the lyrics of this song and you have it." During those times, we have no access yet to internet, no cd's, and we only have cassette tapes. So what i did, i played my father's cassette tapes in our reliable red cassette player. I pressed the play, pause, rewind, and fast forward buttons many times to get the song's lyrics. And voila, i have my own song book collection!
And yes until now, everytime I have a spare time from all the house chores, taking care of my baby and doing all my duty, i do listen to music. It has this kind of relaxing effect to a one's tired body and mind. I do listen and appreciate modern music, but nothing really beats to music way back in the old days. Don't you agree?
